Bluebonnets

Growing up in Texas I remember always getting so excited about Bluebonnet season! I think in my head as a kid I thought it was forever but really it's like only a few weeks. Last year I completely missed. Never saw a bluebonnet anywhere. Not one. Ever. So I promised myself that I would get bluebonnet pictures with Maddie no matter what! SUCCESS! And she loved it! She has walking around barefoot! Playing with flowers and her Easter eggs! She had a lot of fun and I think she made a new friend. Not that she just met Kaye or anything! Kaye Askins Photography has been taking her pictures for a while now. And she does amazing work! And it's always a fun experience, even when Maddie is beyond tired.

So here's a sneak peek at her session!

January Recap

Oh sorry about the long hiatus! My computer's net card went out so the only way to blog was from my phone (NOT easy) or on our ancient laptop that usually timed out before the pictures would load! We've been very busy this month! Codie has been studying for his GMAT, I've been into a new business endeavor (more on that later) and Maddie joined a gym class!

Here are some of my favorites pics taken this last month! And I promise to update soon with some videos! I have to edit them so that they are displayed correctly and blogger does not like iPhone videos so I also have to convert them!

A very Merry Christmas!

I hope every one had an extraordinary Merry Christmas filled with love, laughter and family! I love the Christmas season so much! This year, like every year, I am reminded of how amazing Christ is! Growing up I remember my grandma always telling me that the best part of Christmas was watching us (when we were kids) open our gifts and this year I saw that it's true. My favorite thing about Christmas has always been the giving of gifts because it reflects the love our Lord has for us in giving His greatest gift. I also love how much time we spend with our families during Christmas too. I am am doubly blessed in that I have been given two families, mine and my in-laws. And yes I really do get along great with my in-laws! They are amazing people! We are so very blessed!

And as amazing as last year's Christmas was (Maddie's 1st) this year's was even better! Why you may ask? Because Maddie was even more fun this year! And for the first time since our married life began my husband did not have to work on Christmas day or any of the days surrounding Christmas. He has for the last 6 years or so missed some part of Christmas because of work, but not this year! He had almost the whole week off...bum! Haha! No he had a well deserved Christmas stay-cation.

On Christmas eve at Granny Marge's Maddie got to open some gifts and she had a blast doing it. So much that she helped Lili and big Pa open their gifts too! On top of Maddie's newly discovered skill for unwrapping gifts we also got to spend some more time with her darling little cousin Lexi! They are so cute together!

Christmas Time!

It's that wonderful time of the year again! I really do love Christmas! I keep my Christmas cds in my car so that on the way home after Thanksgiving I can start listening! Sometimes sooner! ;) This year is some how even more exciting than last year. It could be because we have not just one little girl this year but now two with Lexi! Lots of fun shopping for those two!

We also took our Christmas card photos, though I'm not sure Codie enjoyed that much and it wore little Maddie out. But they turned out beautiful! Our friend Kaye did such an amazing job, as always!

So sleepy!

Thanksgiving 2011 edition

We spent a few days down at Lili and Pa's house for Thanksgiving. And it was so nice and relaxing and fun! The holidays can get so hectic and busy that it sometimes wears me out! I love this time of year though! And it actually got pretty cool, although on Thanksgiving day I wore a sweater and that was a bad idea...chasing a 15 month old around will break a sweat!

We got to see everyone and eat some really good food! Best of all Maddie got to spend some quality time with her cousin Lexi! They were SO sweet together! I think they are going to grow up to be very good friends, maybe even best friends!

Oh and let me tell you a bit about my little diva before you look at the pics. Maddie loves her bling and jewels! Lili has a stash of Mardi Gras beads that Maddie loves to put on and dress up with when she is there! She doesn't stop at just one either, she wants to put them all on! And some bracelets and whatever other shiny objects she can find! I think Codie and I might be in trouble if this trend continues! =)

I love her face in this picture!

Too much food! Thanks Lexi for letting me borrow your bouncer!

Fall is here...Kind of

SO we haven't been doing much this month for a few reasons. It's been incredibly windy most of the time and I've been getting ready for Christmas and working on gifts. But the few days that it has been nice, which is pretty often considering its NOVEMBER! Do you hear me mother nature? It's November not May, can we have some fall weather please? I'm not asking for snow or sleet or freezing nights. I just want that cool crispness that's in the breeze to announce that fall is indeed here. I love fall! It's hands down my favorite time of the year. The leaves are all gorgeous shades of yellow, orange, red and brown. There are even some flowers still blossoming. And it means Christmas is on its way. Oh yeah, so back to what we have been doing on the nice, not so windy days... I've been taking Maddie to the park by our house. And she loooooves it! And I love it because it's never busy, the tiny tots area is fenced off and it's a really nice big park.

Here are some pics from one of our outtings.
